St. Mary Early Childhood Program is designed to
provide a stimulating growth experience in a safe,
nurturing environment and to promote the development
of each child to his/her fullest potential through an
education program permeated with Christian spiritual
values. Children are encouraged to develop their own
uniqueness and abilities. An atmosphere is created to
encourage and promote cooperation, sharing, respect,
independence, and caring. Parent communication and
involvement are frequent and ongoing.
St. Mary School offers Early Childhood programs
for children ages 3 and 4 years old and kindergarten.
Rising Stars PreSchool is for children age 3 by September
15 of the enrolled school year. Parents can choose a half
day 3-day or a 2-day weekly program. Classes are from
8:10 a.m. - 11:08 a.m. with Wednesday from 8:10 a.m. -
10:08 a.m. A teacher and an associate work with each
class. Tuition assistance is available.
Rising Stars children will:
- Learn how to cooperate in a classroom
community through informal play
- Experience activities in the areas of art,
music, and drama
- Follow simple directions
- Engage in hands-on experiences with a
variety of materials
- Build listening skills through finger plays,
songs, and stories
- Express wants and needs and work out
problems with words
- Develop gross motor skills with an array
of indoor and outdoor activities
- Use sorting games and manipulatives
- Explore different media to develop small
motor skills
